Getting started
What is SweetSeat?
SweetSeat is a teacher-facing classroom seating planner. It combines the physical room, placement needs, behavioural considerations, groups and seating preferences to help build a practical plan.
Do I have to use every student need?
No. SweetSeat is designed around the information that is relevant to a particular class. A teacher can leave categories unused when they do not matter.
Does the highest score always mean the best plan?
No. The score and Student Fit information help the teacher inspect the arrangement. Professional judgement remains the final decision.
Try Me
Is the demo class real?
No. Every student name and need in Try Me is fictional and created solely to demonstrate SweetSeat.
What can I edit in Try Me?
Try Me uses a fictional class and keeps each stage separate. Build Room is fully interactive, and Student Needs lets you edit placement, Matrix and List View needs. Find Best Fit starts from its own fictional demonstration preset, so earlier demo edits are not retained as a classroom record.
Does Find the Best Fit run the commercial optimiser in the demo?
Yes. Find Best Fit uses the same SweetSeat seating workflow with a fixed fictional class. Room and Student Needs changes from earlier Try Me stages are reset before generation, so the demonstration never carries user-entered class information into the result.
Privacy and files
Where does the current app save information?
SweetSeat autosaves in browser local storage on the device and browser being used. Exported files are generated for the teacher to save.
Should I still follow my school's data rules?
Yes. In particular, exported files and printed plans can contain student information and should be handled according to school policy.
Troubleshooting
The room looks too small after changing screens. What should I do?
SweetSeat includes a Fit room control. It changes the viewport only and does not move desks or change the optimiser result.
