Privacy Policy

Important: this policy has been written for the current static promotional site and local SweetSeat application model. It should be reviewed before launch if you add analytics, forms, user accounts, payment processing, cloud storage or other third-party services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy describes how the SweetSeat promotional website handles personal information. It also explains, at a high level, how classroom information is handled by the current downloadable/local SweetSeat application.

2. Information collected by this website

The supplied website does not include account creation, contact forms, advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Try Me uses fixed fictional students and blocks routes that could load or enter a real class list.

If the website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, that provider may process technical request information such as IP address, browser/device information, request time and security/log information as part of hosting and protecting the site. The provider's own terms and privacy practices also apply to that processing.

3. SweetSeat application data

The v0.9.0-beta.25 SweetSeat application supplied with this website is a self-contained browser application. It does not send classroom data to a SweetSeat server. Autosave uses local browser storage. Files the teacher exports are saved or handled under the teacher's control.

4. Try Me data

The Try Me class is fictional. Visitors can interact with room building, Student Needs, Best Fit, Review & Share and PDF output, but real student names cannot be uploaded or entered. Each stage deliberately reloads/reset its demonstration data, and Try Me does not maintain a classroom record between visits.

5. Contact and support information

If support is later offered by email or through a marketplace, information voluntarily sent in a support request may be used to respond to that request and maintain appropriate business records. This website build does not itself collect those messages.

6. Cookies and analytics

The supplied site does not set analytics or advertising cookies. Essential platform/security mechanisms used by a chosen host may operate independently of this site code. If analytics or marketing technology is introduced, this policy should be updated before that technology is enabled.

7. Children and students

The promotional website and SweetSeat product are designed for teachers and school staff. The public demo does not ask children or students to create accounts or provide personal information.

8. Security

Reasonable steps should be taken to protect any personal information handled by the SweetSeat business. Teachers and schools should also protect exported seating files and printouts because those files may contain student information outside the SweetSeat application.

9. Access, correction and complaints

Where applicable, a person may contact the SweetSeat operator about personal information held by the business, request correction or raise a privacy concern. Contact details should be inserted on the Contact page before public launch.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated as the website or product changes. The effective date at the top of the policy should be updated whenever material changes are made.

11. Australian privacy context

Australian privacy obligations can depend on the nature and size of a business and the activities it undertakes. This policy is intended to provide transparent information even where a particular statutory obligation may not apply. It is not a substitute for legal advice about the circumstances of the SweetSeat business.
